The fire inside the garage at 125 N. Copa De Oro Road, just north of Sunset Boulevard, was reported at 3:24 p.m, said fire department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

The department dispatched 31 firefighters to the scene and the blaze was knocked down in about 14 minutes, Stewart said.

Firefighters managed to prevent the flames from spreading throughout the garage and into the house above the garage, she continued.
