ENCINO (CNS) – A couple was handcuffed and money taken during a home invasion robbery in Encino, authorities said today.
The suspects gained entry to the large two-story residence in the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue by prying a rear door open around 10:45 p.m. Monday, Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Jeff Graham said.
All of the suspects wore ski masks, Graham said. One was armed with a firearm and another with a screwdriver or small knife. No injuries were reported, Graham said. The suspects were described only as four men, said LAPD Officer Nuria Vanegas.
LAPD Sgt. Dave Cueto told NBC4 that the victims, whom he described as “two elderly folks”, were the owners of three Los Angeles-area restaurants.
The suspects escaped in a newer-model four-door BMW, according to police. KNX reported that the suspects took more than $10,000 in cash and jewelry.
