A handful of Southern California postal offices will be open late Tuesday evening to accommodate last-minute tax filers.

Tax returns must be postmarked by midnight to beat the federal dateline. Those who still can’t make that deadline can request an extension from the IRS.

Two local mail centers will be open until midnight:

— Los Angeles Processing and Distribution Center, 7001 S. Central Ave.; and

— Santa Ana Processing and Distribution Center, 3101 W. Sunflower Ave.

The Industry postal center at 15421 E. Gale Ave. will collect mail until 10 p.m. For Inland Empire residents, the San Bernardino postal center at 1900 W. Redlands Blvd. will be open until 8 p.m.
