A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a Prius on the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway in Los Angeles, authorities said Saturday.
The crash occurred at 5:45 p.m. Friday when the man riding a Honda RC51 motorcycle at a high rate of speed between the No. 1 and 2 lanes of the Express Lanes near 79th Street lost control and veered right, crossing the No. 2 lane of the Express Lanes and into the No. 1 lane of freeway and collided with the left rear of a Toyota Prius, according to Officer R. Banovitz of the California Highway Patrol.
As a result of the collision, the victim, identified as Eddason Andrus of Los Angeles, was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries, Banovitz said.
Andrus was transported to UCLA Harbor Medical Center where he later died, Banovitz said.
No other injuries were reported.
