A person perched himself near the top of Los Angeles City Hall late this afternoon, possibly contemplating a jump.

Police and firefighters responded to the downtown landmark, located at 200 N. Spring St., about 4 p.m.

The individual was on the 27th floor observation deck, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Main Street was closed between first and Temple streets as rescue crews and officers responded to what the Los Angeles Fire Department described as a “single patient behavioral emergency.”
