The Marvel superhero blockbuster “Thor: Ragnarok” continued to rule at the North American box office over the weekend, spoiling the debuts of a holiday-themed comedy and a retelling of a classic murder mystery, according to final figures released Monday.

“Daddy’s Home 2” Takes Second Place

The latest “Thor” film collected $57.1 million over the weekend, giving it a two-week total of $212.1 million, according to comScore.

The Will Ferrell-Mark Wahlberg comedy “Daddy’s Home 2” debuted in second place with $29.7 million, followed by the mystery “Murder on the Orient Express,” which collected $28.7 million.

Week’s Top Ten

Another holiday comedy, “A Bad Moms Christmas,” slipped to fourth place with $11.5 million. The horror film “Jigsaw” took fifth place with $3.4 million.

Rounding out the top 10 films of the weekend were “Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween” ($2 million); “Geostorm” ($1.6 million); “Blade Runner 2049” ($1.5 million); “Happy Death Day” ($1.3 million); and “Lady Bird” ($1.2 million).
