Firefighters extinguish Del Rey area brush fire

Firefighters from Los Angeles and Culver City extinguished a brush fire last night that burned about two acres of vegetation near the Marina (90) Freeway in the Del Rey area of Los Angeles.

The brushfire near Centinela Avenue and the 90 Freeway was reported at
9:10 p.m., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Several lanes on the freeway were temporarily closed while firefighters
extinguished the flames, Humphrey said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department dispatched 58 firefighters to the scene.

Culver City Fire Department also sent firefighters to the scene, Humphrey
said. It took about 51 minutes to extinguish the brush fire.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation, according to Humphrey.
