A lawsuit was filed Tuesday on behalf of an unnamed actress whose phone was hacked, resulting in the posting of unauthorized intimate photos of the entertainer on online porn sites.

The Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit states that the defendant, identified only as Roe Corp., published sexually explicit images of the plaintiff, described in the complaint only as “Jane Doe, a well-known entertainer and actress,” without her permission and in violation of the right of publicity. The suit also refers to unknown defendant “Does” who obtained the photos and made them available to the website.
The plaintiff “had a reasonable expectation of privacy in the photographs on her telephone and iCloud,” according to the suit, which says she has suffered “horror, shock, shame, mortification, hurt feelings, depression and feelings of powerlessness.”
The complaint, which seeks unspecified damages and injunctive relief, describes the actress as someone who has done “extensive work in television” and is “well-known throughout the world. Her name has become famous and distinct and is singularly associated with her.”
On the other hand, the suit describes the Roe Corp. as having the primary business of “the creation and maintenance of pornographic websites on the Internet.”
