LOS ANGELES (CNS) - After more than a week of wintry weather, the
Southland basked in summer-like heat today, but the elevated temperatures won’t
last long.
The temperature at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank hit a record 83 degrees
today, topping the previous high of 82 set in 2006 and 1969. Another record was
set at UCLA, where it hit 85 degrees, besting the old record of 83 set in 2006,
according to the National Weather Service.
Records were also set in Camarillo, Santa Barbara and Santa Maria,
according to the NWS.
More warm weather is expected tomorrow, with highs forecast in the lower
80s in some areas. But the weather will get noticeably cooler as the weekend
approaches.
By Friday, cloudy skies are expected, with temperatures struggling to
make the lower-70s across much of the area, according to the Weather Service.
