Police today arrested a man who allegedly broke into a San Pedro home, then apparently returned to try to steal a car, authorities said.

The incident began about 3 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Sepulveda
Street, said Los Angeles police Officer Liliana Preciado.

“The robber was believed to have broken into a home and then returned
to try and steal a vehicle from the location,” Preciado said.

Officers set up a perimeter to search for the suspect, and they arrested
him within about two or three hours, police said. His name was not
immediately released.
